I have put together some of the basics to help you get to know your Tarot a little better and simplify the learning process for you. Remember, reading the cards is all about setting intentions and using your intuition, but knowing the structure of Tarot can help you to give more in depth readings.
The main difference between Tarot & Oracle is the strucure of the deck. Oracle decks can have any theme and any number of cards, whereas Tarot will always have 78 cards, 4 suits, Court Cards and the Major Arcana. Each card carries a specific meaning even though these interpretations can be different between decks.
In some decks, the Justice and Strength cards are numbered differently. In traditional Tarot Justice is 8 and Strength is 11, however when the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot was published, he switched the position of Justice to 11 and Strength to 8 (inkeeping with Astrology). Which do you resonate with most?
Absolutely not! Reading Tarot is all about intention & intuition. Of course each card carries a specific meaning, but it is far more important to tap into what you see when you look at the cards. What message comes through for you? The divine will communicate with you in a unique way, so trust your inner guidance.
